“Nashville Star” &”Can You Duet” finalist Delnora Reed has been performing her signature blend of roots, country and folk music across the country since she was a teenager; continuing a long and distinguished family tradition in music. Her first album, entitled “Delnora” received airplay on Country Radio both in the States as well as the United Kingdom and while in college, Delnora was named one of the ten “Best College Entertainers In America”.

As the great-granddaughter of the legendary Henry Reed, a master fiddler and a living archive of old time music, Delnora could not help but be drawn to melodies as ancient as the Celts. Dr. Alan Jabbour, then a graduate student at Duke, recorded Henry Reed’s fiddling in the late 1960’s and on the inspiration of those sessions went on to establish the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, where “Fiddle Tunes of the Old Frontier: The Henry Reed Collection” is the centerpiece of the collection. Delnora’s family & friends all continue with her in this rich legacy. Each summer in Henry Reed’s hometown of Glen Lyn, Virginia, a memorial fiddler’s convention takes place and hundreds of old-time music players, pickers and fans gather for a spirited weekend of competition and fellowship.

Delnora has shared the stage with the likes of Craig Morgan, Paul Thorn, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Leonard Ahlstrom (Newsong), Jason Deere (Ryan Shupe & the Rubberband), Buck Moore & Gary Duffey (Paint Me a Birmingham) and many more including comedian Jeff Dunham. Her gift is in bringing those melodies forward, into music that is at once thoroughly modern and hauntingly traditional. Whether the opportunity comes as part of Blue Eyed Grass or enjoying the more collegial atmosphere of the annual Henry Reed Old Time Fiddler’s Conventions, Delnora isn’t shy about sharing her love of music with the world!
