 Delnora Reed,Jayron Weaver,Blue Eyed Grass,Acoustic,Roots,Music,Guitar,Mandolin,Georgia,West Virginia,The Lyric Theatre,July 24 Lyric Theatre is a part of Loudon, Tennessee history. First built around 1911, The Lyric Theatre was an important part of the community; showing silent Westerns with serial “cliffhangers” and other movies were only a part of the activities that took place at the theatre until it burned down in 1934 and was rebuilt and re-opened in 1935 showing classic movies like, "The Last Outpost", with Cary Grant. Plagued with fire, the theatre burned again around 1941. Opening again in the mid-1950’s, the final movie was shown in 1961. The Lyric Theatre was donated to the City of Loudon in the 1980’s. Since then, the Loudon Merchants and Property Owners Association (LMPOA) has worked to restore the theatre. When they took over, there was nothing but four brick walls. For more than a decade, the LMPOA and local volunteers chipped away at restoring the charming old theatre to its former glory with a renovated stage, marquee, full facilities. The first concert series was held in 2003 and continues with some of the finest live music concerts in the nation at this fine historic Lyric Theatre.
